Spotlight Chick Kristi Razo Certified Health Coach

Spotlight Chick Kristi Razo Certified Health Coach

Tell us about yourself so that we can get to know you better.

My name is Kristi Razo and I am a Certified Health Coach. I work with clients who have struggled with weight long-term, help them to lose the weight naturally and find love and happiness within themselves again. I absolutely love learning and I’m earning my Holistic MBA as well as my Eating Psychology Coaching Certification. I have been dancing since I was 2-1/2 years old, still love to dance (mostly Zumba) and teach Silver Sneakers classes at the YMCA. I adore being in the kitchen and find baking is something that really relaxes me and gives me joy. I have recently started with Pampered Chef and can’t wait to teach others how easy, fun and delicious healthy cooking can be! (Yes, healthy doesn’t have to taste like cardboard or fake food, promise!)

What inspired you to do what you do professionally?

I have struggled with my weight as a young girl and started dieting at age 9. It wasn’t necessary as I wasn’t heavy, but was considered bigger than the girls on my competition dance team and therefore needed to lose weight. The dieting actually brought about much of my weight initially and I continued struggle through my adult years. I know what it is like to walk through life in a heavy body and understand the thoughts, feelings, judgement, and experiences that sometimes come with that. I have lost a little over 30 pounds without dieting and want to help others do the same. While I am still on my personal journey, I have been through most of my life heavier and know how daunting and overwhelming even losing 5 pounds can feel. I want to help others reclaim their power and take back control of their bodies.

I was also sick for about 11 years and misdiagnosed three times. I got a little fed up with the doctors and decided to take my health into my own hands. After much research, I started to see I had a lot of the common characteristics of a Celiac, including symptoms as a child (migraines and nosebleeds). I started eating gluten free about 10 years ago and my health has improved tremendously! I no longer suffer from any digestive issues like I used to and the migraines have completely subsided.

I know my experience with my weight and not having doctors listen to me is very common and I want to help as many people as I can improve their health through natural and sustainable means so they can live the life they had always imagined for themselves.

Tell us a story of how you made a difference in someone’s life.

One of my clients who is just completing her program has done amazing! She has struggled with 15 pounds for decades and would lose and gain them back often. She told me she was unhappy and a bit depressed when we first started. She was ready to do the work and has been immensely successful! Not only has she lost about 12 pounds, without dieting, but she has also improved her relationship with her husband, mom and sister and was feeling more confident, so applied for a promotion at work and got it! She has really focused on taking better care of herself as we progressed through the program. She now has tools to manage her life and handle anything that may come her way. She is happy and enjoying life, being the person she had always hoped she was!

What have you gained personally from being a member of Chicks Connect?

I have gained a great network of business minded professionals and friends! I have met some of the most amazing women and have really developed true and honest friendships. That is not something I can say of most networking groups. Also, I have moved my business forward through improving my elevator pitch, understanding what activities are and aren’t serving me, being held accountable for tasks I’ve been putting off and more! The Mastermind aspect of this network and what we learn about our own business because of it is invaluable!

What have you gained professionally from being a member of Chicks Connect?

I am a relatively new member who is going to be chairing a brand new online chapter in the Los Angeles area. Even being a newbie, I have learned so much! I have made wonderful connections that I know will last a lifetime, I have connected with Chicks in other states and will be meeting a Chick for coffee who is coming out to California for business. That doesn’t happen with regular groups! Also, I believe that CC has taught me to see through a different lens. I have a Masters in Business and worked as a 1099 sales rep for 10 years. Being in corporate and/or living independently under a company umbrella is SO not the same as what an entrepreneur or solopreneur needs to learn, know and do with their business. That was my biggest rude awakening in starting my practice and CC has been a wonderful resource for me through our weekly trainings, meetings, newsletters, but most importantly, through the people of this network! They ARE the gold here! We learn so much from one another and from collaboration!

Any words of wisdom for other Chicks?

Do your best to attend your meetings! You will get the most out of it and your business will grow if you continue to work on it. If the date or time doesn’t work, try out one of the online chapters! (We would love to have you Mondays at 4pm PST!)

How can people reach you if they want to know more about what you are up to in the world?

You can reach out to me in many ways, but for the sake of ease, I will just list two. The best way is to reach me via text (562-822-2853) or via private message on Facebook.
